Conserved land, including the Stuart Farm fields alongside the Squamscott River in Stratham, are a hallmark of conservation in the watershed.
Using knowledge gained from over 20 years of research and discussion, ESRLAC supports towns in the watershed by providing the following services:
- Reviewing development proposals in the river corridor, including state shoreland permit, wetland permit and alteration of terrain applications, meeting with landowners and developers to review and discuss proposals, and providing comments and recommendations to applicants, local boards and commissions, and state agencies.
- Participating in regional research and planning projects focused on water quality protection in the watershed. Recent projects focused on stormwater management and climate adaptation, resulting in river-specific, cost effective solutions to protect water quality.
- Partnering with residents, river users, local boards and commissions, and other conservation organizations on public education and outreach events and land conservation projects.
